Gear: Full T7 is fine and anything with intellect spell power crit haste and hit rating.
you want your haste to be around 400 and your hit around 295 (the 11% hit cap)
dont worry too much on haste, replace it for crit if needed. use all spellpower encants on your gear and icewalker for your boots. use the 25 Spellpower 2% intellect meta gem for your helm because as a arcane mage intellect is key. intellect adds crit increases mana regen (spirit is based on your intellect) and 15% of your intellect becomes spellpower. also evocation restores 60% of your mana so More intellect = more mana restored by evocation.

Rotation: Arcane spec's rotation is very unique. most classes repeat the same rotation over and over but as for arcane you have to keep in mind a few things.
For example your dpsing Patchwerk in Naxxramas:
1) start off with 3 Arcane blast after that see if you proced your missile barrage, if it proced fire away with a 3 stack buff of the arcane blast. if however it didnt proc cast arcane blast 2 more times and use it when it comes up. if it still didnt proc then use arcane barrage and repeat that rotation. avoid using arcane blast over and over because it will seriously damage your mana pool and you will end up at step 4 on this list.

2) When your mana gets down to about 30% use evocation. Dont use it too early because while your using evocation your also gaining mana from your normal mana regen as well as a replenish from ret paladin / frost mages so you wanna make sure you get all the mana from it and use it 5-10% past 40% mana left mark. Another tip in keeping high dps is to use Icyveins at 50-60% mana and when icyveins hits its last second pop your evocation. this will make your evocation 20% faster while still restoring 60% of your mana. this trick is very important in fights such as thaddius where your evocation can get interrupted by chain lightning.

3) fter you used your evocation wait till you have about 60% mana left and use your mana gem. if you have your tier set bonus you might want to consider saving your arcane power for when you do this.

4) when your mana starts getting low what do you do? you use a smaller version of your normal rotation. Use Arcane blast x 2 + missle barrage or if it didnt proc just use arcane barrage and repeat. if your mana gets really low use arcane blast x1 and arcane barrage. Avoid arcane power at all cost when you mana is low and use evocation as soon as its up. going Oom doesnt happen too much but if your having problems with mana make sure you use mage armor.

5) Finally when the boss has low health just use arcane blast non-stop till hes dead. this may burn your mana but if the boss is going to die soon your better off buring your remaining mana for extra dps.
